What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Some are essential to make a site work; others help site owners understand how the site is used. We keep our use deliberately minimal, and nothing non-essential runs unless you agree to it.

How consent works on this site

When you first visit, you’ll see a consent banner. Analytics is switched off by default — it only runs if you choose “Accept”. We use Google Consent Mode v2, which means Google tools receive no measurement data until you’ve consented. You can change your mind at any time using the “Manage cookie preferences” link at the bottom of every page.

The cookies we use

Essential (always on). A cookie that remembers your consent choices, and any cookies strictly necessary for security and for the website to function. These can’t be switched off, because the site doesn’t work without them.

Analytics (only with your consent). Google Analytics cookies (names beginning _ga) that help us understand which pages are useful and how people find us — for example whether an enquiry came from a search or a directory. This information is aggregated; we don’t use it to identify you.

Advertising. None. We don’t use advertising or social-media tracking cookies.

Managing cookies yourself

As well as the banner, you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings — every major browser lets you clear cookies for individual sites. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site working.
