Fire Doors in Bournemouth

We look after fire doors in Bournemouth for commercial buildings, blocks of flats and communal areas. In short, that means inspection, remedial works, installation and replacement, from a local team based on the south coast.

LOCAL FIRE DOOR SPECIALISTS

Bournemouth’s buildings all depend on their fire doors. For example, that is true of the commercial premises around the town centre, Lansdowne and the Triangle, as well as the residential blocks and conversions across Westbourne, Boscombe, Southbourne and Winton. Under the Fire Safety Order, the people who own, occupy or manage them carry a legal responsibility to keep those doors in effective working order. So we work with facilities managers, commercial landlords, managing agents and residents’ management companies across the town. Above all, everything we do comes with a clear, photographed record you can put on file.

It might be a fire door inspection for a block of flats in Pokesdown, remedial repairs to a communal door in Springbourne or a new certified FD30 doorset in Charminster. Wherever you are, we are rarely far away.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Fire doors in Bournemouth: common questions

What fire door services do you offer in Bournemouth?

Everything a building needs over the life of its doors: fire door inspections, repairs and remedial works, installation of certified doorsets, scheduled maintenance and Level 4 fire risk assessments. Every job is photographed and recorded door by door, so you hold the evidence.

How much does an inspection cost?

Routine inspections are £20 +VAT per single door and £25 +VAT per double door, with a £200 +VAT minimum charge per visit. Regulation 10 checks on doors we have already fully inspected are £10 +VAT per door. Repairs and replacements are quoted per door from the report. Our cost guide has typical figures.

Who is responsible for the doors in a block of flats?

The responsible person under the Fire Safety Order 2005, usually the freeholder, RMC or managing agent, must make sure communal doors and flat entrance doors perform. Leaseholders often own their flat entrance door, but the responsible person still carries the duty. Our guides on the responsible person and who pays explain the split.

Which regulations apply to a block in Bournemouth?

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 applies to the common parts of every block. The Fire Safety Act 2021 brings flat entrance doors into the fire risk assessment. In blocks over 11 metres, the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 add quarterly checks of communal doors and annual checks of flat entrance doors. Our legislation hub explains each one in plain English.

Which parts of Bournemouth do you cover?

All of it: the town centre, Lansdowne, the Triangle, Westbourne, Boscombe, Southbourne, Charminster, Winton, Springbourne, Queen’s Park, Iford, Pokesdown, Kinson and Ensbury Park. We are based ten minutes away in Christchurch, so short visits and follow-ups are no problem.

How do I book a fire door inspection in Bournemouth?

Call 01202 399399, email info@southcoastfiredoors.co.uk or use the quote form. Tell us the building type and roughly how many doors, and we will give you a per-door price and the earliest dates. Most Bournemouth inspections are booked within a couple of weeks.
