Fire Doors in Poole
We look after fire doors in Poole for communal areas, flat entrance doors and commercial premises. In short, that means inspection, remedial works, installation and replacement doorsets, from a local team.
LOCAL FIRE DOOR SPECIALISTS
Poole’s buildings all rely on their fire doors. For example, that is true of the waterfront flats around Sandbanks, Canford Cliffs and Lilliput, the harbourside and Quay developments, the period conversions in Parkstone and Westbourne, and the purpose-built blocks in Hamworthy and Broadstone. Under the Fire Safety Order, the people who own and manage them carry a legal responsibility to keep those doors working. So we work with management companies, RMCs, block managing agents, landlords and leaseholders across Poole. Above all, everything comes with a clear, photographed record for your files.
It might be a fire door inspection for a block of flats in Parkstone, remedial repairs to a communal door in Broadstone or a new certified FD30 doorset in Hamworthy. Wherever you are, we are rarely far away.

Homelake House, Ashley Cross. After a flood, the main contractor asked us to replace every fire door in this retirement living building. As a result, residents now have new oak flat entrance and cross-corridor doorsets with easy-open closers and Part M vision panels. Read the case study →

COMMON QUESTIONS
Fire doors in Poole: common questions
What fire door services do you offer in Poole?
Everything a building needs over the life of its doors: fire door inspections, repairs and remedial works, installation of certified doorsets, scheduled maintenance and Level 4 fire risk assessments. Every job is photographed and recorded door by door, so you hold the evidence.
How much does an inspection cost?
Routine inspections are £20 +VAT per single door and £25 +VAT per double door, with a £200 +VAT minimum charge per visit. Regulation 10 checks on doors we have already fully inspected are £10 +VAT per door. Repairs and replacements are quoted per door from the report. Our cost guide has typical figures.
Who is responsible for the doors in a block of flats?
The responsible person under the Fire Safety Order 2005, usually the freeholder, RMC or managing agent, must make sure communal doors and flat entrance doors perform. Leaseholders often own their flat entrance door, but the responsible person still carries the duty. Our guides on the responsible person and who pays explain the split.
Which regulations apply to a block in Poole?
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 applies to the common parts of every block. The Fire Safety Act 2021 brings flat entrance doors into the fire risk assessment. In blocks over 11 metres, the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 add quarterly checks of communal doors and annual checks of flat entrance doors. Our legislation hub explains each one in plain English.
Which parts of Poole do you cover?
All of it: Poole town centre, Ashley Cross, Parkstone, Branksome, Westbourne, Lilliput, Sandbanks, Canford Heath, Oakdale, Creekmoor, Broadstone and Hamworthy. We are based twenty minutes away in Christchurch, so short visits and follow-ups are no problem.
How do I book a fire door inspection in Poole?
Call 01202 399399, email info@southcoastfiredoors.co.uk or use the quote form. Tell us the building type and roughly how many doors, and we will give you a per-door price and the earliest dates. Most Poole inspections are booked within a couple of weeks.
