FIRE DOOR INSTALLATION · POOLE
Fire Door Installation in Poole
Our fire door installation in Poole covers certified doorsets for communal areas, flat entrances, retirement and commercial buildings. In addition, a local team fits and finishes every door to a high standard.
CERTIFIED DOORSETS, PROPERLY FITTED
Some fire doors are beyond repair, non-certified, or due for replacement as part of a wider refurbishment or reinstatement. In those cases, the door needs installing as a complete certified doorset: the door, frame, seals and ironmongery working together as one tested assembly. That is what we do across Poole, from the waterfront blocks around Sandbanks and Canford Cliffs to the retirement and supported-living schemes in Ashley Cross and Parkstone, as well as the commercial premises around the town and Quay. See everything we do in the town on our fire doors in Poole page, or our general fire door installation service.
We work with management companies, main contractors, landlords and care providers. For example, we supply and fit certified flat entrance doorsets, cross-corridor doors, cupboard and riser doors. Each one gets the correct frame, intumescent fire and smoke seals and ironmongery, as well as a tidy finish, so it looks as good as it performs. Not sure whether a door needs replacing or can be repaired? Then start with a fire door inspection in Poole.
That might be a new certified flat-entrance doorset in Penn Hill, communal FD30 doorsets for a block in Creekmoor or a full FD60 stair-core installation in Parkstone. Either way, we supply and fit every doorset to certification, right across Poole.

A RECENT PROJECT
Homelake House, Ashley Cross
Homelake House is a retirement living facility in Ashley Cross, Poole. A burst water main flooded the lower ground floor. As part of the reinstatement, the main contractor therefore contracted us to replace all of the fire doors throughout the building.
For the flat entrance doors, we used our Seville prefinished oak doorsets, supplied with new frames. We then fitted each one out for residents’ everyday use and safety: easy-open door closers, a fire-rated letterbox, a fire-rated spyhole, a euro sashlock with thumbturn and a door number. The easy-open closers matter in a retirement setting, because they let residents operate the doors comfortably. At the same time, the door still closes fully on its own.
For the cross-corridor and cupboard doors, we installed our prefinished oak flush doors with new frames. We also finished them with stainless steel push/pull handles, cam-action easy-open closers, kickplates and signage. The cross-corridor doors came with Part M compliant vision panels pre-installed. As a result, residents and staff have clear sightlines, and the doors meet accessibility requirements.

Throughout the job, we worked closely with the main contractor. That kept the fire door installation running to programme, with a tidy, consistent finish across the building.
WHY IT MATTERS
Installed right, certified, and documented
A fire door only performs as intended when it is a complete certified doorset, with the correct frame, seals and ironmongery, fitted to the manufacturer’s tolerances. So we install certified doorsets and provide the documentation to evidence what we supplied and fitted. In turn, that is useful for the building’s fire risk assessment, insurer or the Building Safety Regulator.
In retirement, supported-living and care settings, accessibility matters alongside fire performance. For instance, easy-open closers and Part M vision panels help less able residents use the doors safely, while keeping each door fully self-closing and compliant.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Fire door installation in Poole: common questions
How much does fire door installation in Poole cost?
A certified FD30 single doorset supplied and fitted usually falls between £600 and £1,300 +VAT, depending on rating, size, glazing and ironmongery. FD60 and double doorsets cost more. For anything beyond a single door we survey first and give you an itemised, per-door quote. Our cost guide has typical figures.
How long does a replacement take?
We make doorsets to measure at our Christchurch depot from certified components, so lead times are usually shorter than buying in. Fitting a single doorset typically takes a few hours. On a block we phase the work so no flat is left without a door overnight.
Do I need FD30 or FD60?
Most flat entrance and communal doors need FD30S: 30 minutes fire resistance with cold smoke seals. FD60 is used where the fire strategy or Approved Document B calls for 60 minutes, such as some plant rooms and protected shafts. Your fire risk assessment or the building drawings will say which. If not, we advise on survey.
Will the new door match the existing ones?
Usually, yes. Doorsets come in a range of veneers, paint finishes and vision panel layouts, and we specify to match the corridor, as we did with the oak doorsets at Homelake House in Ashley Cross. Where a like-for-like match is not certified, we will say so and offer the closest compliant option.
What paperwork do I get?
The doorset’s certification and data sheet, the components fitted, and a photographed installation record for each door. That is the evidence a fire risk assessor, insurer or the Building Safety Regulator will ask to see.
Can you replace just one flat entrance fire door?
Yes. We fit single doors for leaseholders and landlords as well as whole blocks for managing agents. If the door only needs repair, we will tell you that first; see our guide to repair or replace.
