Fire Doors in Ringwood

We look after fire doors in Ringwood: inspections, repairs, installation and maintenance. That includes certified fire door inspection, remedial works, FD30 and FD60 installation and replacement, and fire risk assessments. We work in residential blocks, retirement and sheltered-housing schemes, commercial units and communal areas throughout the Ringwood area.

A NEW FOREST MARKET TOWN

Ringwood sits on the western edge of the New Forest, where the River Avon marks the Hampshire–Dorset border. Its buildings are a mix, and that shapes the fire door work here. There is the market-town core with its period and converted premises, and the residential estates of Poulner, Hightown and Kingston. In addition, there is a sizeable retirement and sheltered-housing population, and the commercial and light-industrial units of the Ringwood Industrial Estate. We carry out fire door inspections, repairs, installation and maintenance across all of them, from flat entrance and communal fire doors to cross-corridor and plant-room doors, each with its own requirements.

We work with management companies, resident management companies (RMCs), managing agents, retirement-scheme operators, commercial landlords and leaseholders across Ringwood. First, we inspect thoroughly and report clearly. Then we carry out the remedial works and installations to bring every door up to standard.

It might be a fire door inspection for a block of flats in Poulner, remedial repairs to a communal fire door in Hightown, a fire risk assessment in Ashley Heath or a new certified FD30 doorset in Ringwood town centre. Wherever you are, we cover Ringwood and the surrounding area.

WHY IT MATTERS

Compliant doors, evidenced on paper

Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the responsible person for any commercial, industrial or residential premises has a duty to keep fire doors in effective working order. In addition, the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 add specific checking duties in taller residential blocks (full text on legislation.gov.uk). It might be a separating door in a warehouse or a flat entrance door in a sheltered scheme. Either way, we photograph, measure and record every inspection and repair. So you hold the evidence a fire risk assessor, insurer or the Building Safety Regulator will want to see.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Fire doors in Ringwood: common questions

What fire door services do you offer in Ringwood?

Everything a building needs over the life of its doors: fire door inspections, repairs and remedial works, installation of certified doorsets, scheduled maintenance and Level 4 fire risk assessments. Every job is photographed and recorded door by door, so you hold the evidence.

How much does an inspection cost?

Routine inspections are £20 +VAT per single door and £25 +VAT per double door, with a £200 +VAT minimum charge per visit. Regulation 10 checks on doors we have already fully inspected are £10 +VAT per door. Repairs and replacements are quoted per door from the report. Our cost guide has typical figures.

Who is responsible for the doors in a block of flats?

The responsible person under the Fire Safety Order 2005, usually the freeholder, RMC or managing agent, must make sure communal doors and flat entrance doors perform. Leaseholders often own their flat entrance door, but the responsible person still carries the duty. Our guides on the responsible person and who pays explain the split.

Which regulations apply to a block in Ringwood?

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 applies to the common parts of every block. The Fire Safety Act 2021 brings flat entrance doors into the fire risk assessment. In blocks over 11 metres, the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 add quarterly checks of communal doors and annual checks of flat entrance doors. Our legislation hub explains each one in plain English.

Which parts of Ringwood do you cover?

All of Ringwood, plus Poulner, Ashley Heath, St Leonards, St Ives, Verwood, Fordingbridge and the villages along the A31 and A338. We are based twenty minutes away in Christchurch, so short visits and follow-ups are no problem.

How do I book a fire door inspection in Ringwood?

Call 01202 399399, email info@southcoastfiredoors.co.uk or use the quote form. Tell us the building type and roughly how many doors, and we will give you a per-door price and the earliest dates. Most Ringwood inspections are booked within a couple of weeks.
