If you have any question about this policy or your information, contact us using the details above — we answer plainly, without the jargon.
The information we collect
When you enquire or request a quote — your name, company or organisation, phone number, email address, the property postcode and details of the work you’re asking about, and (if you tell us) how you heard about us.
When we work for you — contact details for booking and access, and the records our work produces: inspection reports, photographs, measurements and completion documentation. These photographs are of doors and buildings, not people.
When you browse this website — with your consent only, analytics data (such as pages visited and how you found us) via Google Analytics. Our hosting provider also keeps standard technical logs (such as IP addresses) for security.
We do not knowingly collect information from children, and we never buy or sell personal data.
Why we use it, and our lawful bases
To answer your enquiry and provide a quote (legitimate interests / steps prior to a contract) · to carry out and document the work you instruct (performance of a contract) · to keep inspection and works records, which form part of a building’s fire safety evidence (legitimate interests and compliance with legal obligations) · to keep basic accounting records (legal obligation) · to understand how people find and use our website, only where you consent (consent) · to contact you about our services where you have asked us to (consent — withdraw any time).
Who we share it with
Trusted service providers who help us run the business, under contract: website hosting, inspection-reporting and job-management software, email, and accountancy. Where the law or an insurer requires it, relevant records may be shared with regulators, insurers or professional advisers. We never sell your information, and we don’t share it for third-party marketing.
How long we keep it
Enquiry details are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards. Inspection reports, photographs and completion documentation are retained long-term, because they form part of a building’s fire safety records — that documentation is a core part of the service we provide. Accounting records are kept for the periods required by law.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how it’s used, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, contact info@southcoastfiredoors.co.uk. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
